VALIS ABLAZE have sadly announced their split with drummer Rich New. To thank him and honour his contributions to the band, VALIS ABLAZE released a new video for their single ‘Reflections’ (feat. Reece Fullwood).
Watch it here:
The track comes from their debut album Boundless that VALIS ABLAZE have released via Long Branch Records earlier this year.
“So with a heavy heart I am announcing that I’m stepping down from the drum throne with Valis Ablaze. After an incredible 6 years right from the start with Ash, I never thought it would be my time. I have incredible memories and I wish the band all the best for the future! I’ll await my Download Festival Back Stage pass one day . . .
To everyone else, thank you so much for supporting us on my adventure. For everyone who’s listened to our music, come to our show and bought our merchandise (which i’ve most likely posted it to you!) – I thank you. Without you, the band wouldn’t be where where it is now. We’ve achieved so much like having our first gig in the tiny 30 cap Gryphon (Bristol) right up to touring the UK and playing main stage UK Tech Fest. The band has a bright future so look out for them in a venue near you soon.
Lastly, thanks to my amazing family who supported me with the decision and I look forward to spending more time with family and loved ones.
Music runs in my blood, drumming gives me energy and life. I’ll not stop playing or being involved with music somehow. But for now it’s over and out.
You can catch Valis Ablaze playing their last date with Rich this coming Saturday (11th) at the New Cross Inn, London for our very own Prog.Metal.Madness! Live event, details here: https://progmetalmadness.com/prog-metal-madness-presents-live/
Having quickly risen through the ranks, VALIS ABLAZE released their first EP Insularity in 2017 which saw them added to many bills in the prog-metal world, including supports with Tesseract, Sikth and a set at UK Tech Fest. Not only did they pick up a legion of fans along the way, progressive minded label Long Branch saw the huge potential and snapped them up for their debut album.
Although wearing their influences clearly on their sleeves, VALIS ABLAZE provide an intriguing alternative to the progressive metal norm; swells of creative ingenuity shine throughout, as well as thought out details and subtle complexities that will keep the listener returning again and again.
With their debut full-length, VALIS ABLAZE present an even more refined sound: low end grooves juxtaposed with soaring vocal lines, crisp milton-cleans and atmospheric synths, all driven by intricate rhythm work and growling bass. A huge spectrum of energy, emotion, power and beauty.
